My Prayer for This Blog

|by | Uncategorized

This morning I was re-reading my journal and came across a prayer I had written for this blog several months ago. It’s neat to look back and see where I was at the beginning of this journey.

I want to share this snippet with you, both to let you in on my heart for this blog, and to keep myself accountable to what God first called me.

my prayer for this blog

Well, yet again I find myself starting a new journal in conjunction with a new season. That being the season of blogging. It’s exciting, because I’m realizing how much I love to write, and that You have put a message on my heart. One of encouraging women to serve and submit to our husbands, to minimize the lust for material things, to deepen our relationship with You and soak in the Word.

I pray that you would bless this pursuit if it’s of You. Cause it to flourish, encourage, challenge, and grow.

If it’s not of You, take it away.

Please humble me and keep me humble. Ground me and keep me grounded. Fix my eyes on You, on eternity, on Your kingdom and Your purposes for my life so that I may be useful for Your kingdom.

Help me to ruthlessly live out each day in obedience to You.

Keep me from spiritual pride. Make my heart soft and sincere.

Give me a sense of full dependence on You. Fill this journal and blog with fresh bread from heaven. I ask for wisdom in what to post, knowing that words do matter.

I hope this blog encourages you. I hope Jesus shines through the words found here, not me. Anything good I can offer comes from Him alone. I want my life to be a pleasing offering to Him.

What is God calling you to in this season of life?

First can I just say this post truly blessed my heart! It is such an encouragement and blessing to hear your heart. A heart that desires to walk in humble obedience before a Holy God. Thank you, Thank you for sharing this!!

We as a family are in a season of waiting patiently for The Lords direction in moving. (My husband has taken a new position with his company and we need to be closer) The Lord has been so faithful to close the doors we are not to walk through, and we are so thankful as we desire the home He has for our family. The summer as been spent looking and waiting and we are still waiting. There have been many times of weariness, but He is our strength and hope!

Thank you so much Michelle! I felt a bit exposed sharing from my prayer journal, and I almost didn’t do it. For me, this is one of the most personal posts I’ve shared on my blog to date, so your encouragement is truly so appreciated.

Those seasons of waiting are hard, but I love your sense of trust in God! That is amazing. I know He will bless your faithfulness and desire for His will. Let me know what happens!!

I didn’t know whether or not to share this in my previous comments, but after reading your follow up comment I want to share as an encouragement to you and to give God glory! You sharing this post from your prayer journal was a answer to a prayer I prayed a few days before you posted it. See I want to be wise and discerning in the blogs I read/follow….I think it so easy to follow so many blogs for various reasons. So in the quiet of my heart (while doing house work) I asked The Lord to show me your heart. Really wasn’t sure how He would do it. Then a few days later you shared with us your sweet prayer. How Great is Our God!!

Can I also say thank you for your post comment follow up comments. I would guess you have the gift of encouragement! Your comments are so thoughtful, kind, and encouraging 🙂
