This morning I was re-reading my journal and came across a prayer I had written for this blog several months ago. It’s neat to look back and see where I was at the beginning of this journey.
I want to share this snippet with you, both to let you in on my heart for this blog, and to keep myself accountable to what God first called me.
Well, yet again I find myself starting a new journal in conjunction with a new season. That being the season of blogging. It’s exciting, because I’m realizing how much I love to write, and that You have put a message on my heart. One of encouraging women to serve and submit to our husbands, to minimize the lust for material things, to deepen our relationship with You and soak in the Word.
I pray that you would bless this pursuit if it’s of You. Cause it to flourish, encourage, challenge, and grow.
If it’s not of You, take it away.
Please humble me and keep me humble. Ground me and keep me grounded. Fix my eyes on You, on eternity, on Your kingdom and Your purposes for my life so that I may be useful for Your kingdom.
Help me to ruthlessly live out each day in obedience to You.
Keep me from spiritual pride. Make my heart soft and sincere.
Give me a sense of full dependence on You. Fill this journal and blog with fresh bread from heaven. I ask for wisdom in what to post, knowing that words do matter.
I hope this blog encourages you. I hope Jesus shines through the words found here, not me. Anything good I can offer comes from Him alone. I want my life to be a pleasing offering to Him.
What is God calling you to in this season of life?
